Description:

The Utah Shakespeare Festival, a Tony-award winning professional theatre company based at Southern Utah University, is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our Guest Services team for the 2024 season. Dive into the excitement as we bring you a seven-show repertory season and three new Greenshows across four wonderful venues. Seasonal - Employment starts late May to early June 2024 and runs through mid October.

House Management:

  • Shifts typically lasting between 4-6 hours within the operational hours of 12:00 am to 11:30 pm, with a mandatory requirement for availability during evenings, weekends, and holidays.

  • Attending mandatory training sessions scheduled in May/June to ensure proficiency in assigned responsibilities and safety protocols.

  • Executing tasks such as moving stanchions and signage, restocking publications, and undertaking light custodial duties.

  • Coordinating theater preparations, managing crowd dynamics before, during, and after each performance.

  • Collaborating closely with volunteers and stage management to enhance guest experience and facilitate the smooth execution of each performance.

  • Serving as a primary point of contact for guests on-site, providing assistance and relevant information pertaining to each performance.

  • Contributing to the setup and cleanup of the season.

  • Participating in monthly scheduling meetings as required.

  • Undertaking other duties as assigned, showcasing adaptability and a willingness to contribute to overall team success.

Ticket Office:

  • Shifts typically lasting between 4-5 hours, taking place within the operational hours of 9:45-8:15 pm, with a mandatory requirement for availability during evenings, weekends, and holidays.

  • Attending mandatory training sessions scheduled in May/June to ensure proficiency in assigned responsibilities and safety protocols.

  • Utilizing ticketing software to sell, exchange, and return tickets both in-person and over-the-phone.

  • Preparing ticket orders for mail or will call.

  • Moving stanchions and signage, stocking publications, and performing other light custodial duties.

  • Serving as a point of assistance and information for guests on-site.

  • Assisting with season setup, cleanup, and attending monthly scheduling meetings.

  • Undertaking other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrates a friendly and outgoing personality, fostering positive interactions with team members and patrons.

  • Punctual and reliable.

  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and efficiency.

  • Ability to work well with deadlines.

  • Must contribute effectively as a member of a team.

  • Ability to lift/carry up to 30 lbs and stand for extended periods of time.

  • Availability to work weekends and holidays (Independence Day, Pioneer Day, Labor Day).

  • Priority in hiring will be given to applicants who can work the entire season.
